I wasn't planning to post anything today, but here I am, writing this on a Sunday evening while enjoying Lacuna Coil's new album. I'm sounding like a broken record—my reading mojo is still in limbo. Currently, I'm stuck on chapter five of Lee Child's Persuader. If all goes according to plan, I’ll squeeze in some reading tonight and push through this block to finish the book before the season premiere of Reacher on Thursday.
Oh, and did I mention that I bought The Writing Retreat by Julia Bartz in paperback last week? I had my eye on it for a while and finally caved and grabbed it last weekend. This week, I also picked up the new Michael Bennett thriller, Paranoia, by James Patterson and James O. Born at Walmart, along with The Best of Fiends, edited by Alfred Hitchcock, at a thrift store.
On my Kindle, I’ve loaded up on several titles: The Pallbearers Club by Paul G. Tremblay, Behind a Closed Door by J.D. Barker, The Last One at the Wedding by Jason Rekulak, The Bewitching Hour by Ashley Poston, and several mysteries by Tony Hillerman, including The Sinister Pig, The Wailing Wind, Coyote Waits, Finding Moon, Sacred Clowns, and The First Eagle.

On the first of every month, when the coffee’s strong and the inbox is quiet, a little dispatch arrives. It carries the scent of last month’s book and movie reviews, the echoes of weekly blog hops, and the occasional ramble scribbled between sips. It’s not urgent. It’s not polished. But it’s honest—and it’s yours if you want it.
Bookworm extraordinaire with a caffeine addiction, I’ve spent years dodging reality in the pages of novels—from spine-tingling thrillers to Westerns that make me feel like a cowboy. Join my chaotic love affair with books and movies at Ramblings of a Coffee-Addicted Writer and Gunsmoke & Grit—where words flow faster than my coffee supply!
