{Sunday Post} — Buck Rogers in the 25th Century, Lawrence Block, and The Twisted Thing

The Caffeinated Book Reviewer's Kimberly hosts a weekly meme called "The Sunday Post"!

* Weekly Tidbits *

  • As of late, I've been writing these posts on either Sunday afternoon or night. I'm writing today's Sunday Post early on Saturday afternoon, and hopefully, I will have it published at midnight.

  • I added four new bookmarks to my collection: House of the Dragon, Yellowstone, Outer Banks, and Handbook for the Recently Deceased (Beetlejuice).

  • Not counting Saturday's game, which won't start for another ten minutes, the Kansas City Royals continue to stink with a record of 18-45. At this rate, they'll lose 50 games before winning the 20th.

What Am I Currently Reading?

Sometime over the weekend, I'll read the graphic novel End After End because my review post is due Monday for a blog tour. Then I'll move on to Jude Deveraux's My Heart Will Find You and Tom Clancy's Flash Point by Don Bentley.

What's New on the Shelf?

The last thing I need is more books, but I've picked up several more at the thrift store. On Monday, I found another Robert Jordan book, A Crown of Swords, the seventh book in the Wheel of Time series. (I got the first six books and the prequel last week.) I also got Zane Grey's The Last Trail, Peter Benchely's The Deep, and Ian Fleming's Octopussy: The Last Great Adventures of James Bond 007

I believe I'm about the only person who buys books there. The woman who works there during the week told me she was setting up another dollar bag of books for sale in the next few days. So, I stopped by the thrift store again today (Saturday) and got 17 books for a dollar.

First off, I grabbed a slew of Lawrence Block's books: The Midst of Death, The Sins of the Fathers, Out on the Cutting Edge, Burglars Can't Be Choosers, The Burglar in the Closet, The Burglar Who Liked to Quote Kipling, The Burglar Who Painted Like Mondrian, The Burglar Who Traded Ted Williams, Hope to Die, All the Flowers Are Dying, Everybody Dies, A Drop of the Hard Stuff, Tanner on Ice, and A Walk Among the Tombstones

The only "repeat" book for me here is Everyone Dies. I grabbed the entire box of Lawrence Block without looking at the titles; it's not a big deal; it's an upgrade from the paperback I have. FYI: The box is the same as a dollar bag.

The other three books are Buck Rogers in the 25th Century by Addison E. Steele, Slocum and the Nebraska Swindle by Jake Logan, and The Twisted Thing by Mickey Spillane.

  3. I don't need any books either, but when you find them that cheap, they are hard to refuse! I hope you have a great week and thanks for stopping by my blog earlier.
