  • Who knew they had SeaQuest DSV toys back in the '90s? I didn't. I stumbled upon the "Darwin" toy at an antique store and paid $5 for it. 




What Am I Currently Reading? 


I'll start reading Star Trek: Strange New Worlds: High Country by John Jackson Miller sometime today. 


What's in the Mail?


Simon & Schuster sent me two Star Trek: Prodigy tie-in children's books to review.


I received Agent in Place by Mark Greaney, a book I had ordered from Hamilton Books, and no, I didn't pay $9.99 for it; I actually paid only $4.99. Then I received Charles R. Swindoll's book, Life is 10% What Happens to You and 90% How You React, from Amazon.


What's New on the Shelf?


Last Monday, I picked up the following paperbacks at the thrift store: The Sixth Man by David Baldacci; Five Passengers from Lisbon by Mignon G. Eberhart; and Spaceballs: The Book by Jovial Bob Stine (R.L. Stine). 


At the same antique store where I bought the Darwin toy, I also picked up the paperbacks Back Blast by Mark Greaney and The Third Kingdom by Terry Goodkind. At a bargain-type store, I found The Wrong Side of Goodbye by Michael Connelly and Piranha by Clive Cussler and Boyd Morrison. Terry Goodkind's Wizard's First Rule was finally on sale again on Kindle, so I bought it for $1.99.

    The Supernova title makes me think of a fabulous Chinese scifi I read some time ago: Supernova Era, by Cixin Liu - the most popular Chinese author of science-fiction. Highly recommended:

    That Seaquest toy is cool. I feel like that's a show I would've liked. and interesting version of Owner. I'm a big fan of the original :)
