{Sunday Post}—The Concrete Blonde, The Romulan War, and To Kill a Mockingbird

The Caffeinated Book Reviewer's Kimberly hosts a weekly meme called "The Sunday Post"!

Weekly Tidbits

  • Yes, this week's post is indeed many hours late. I planned to write the post first thing this morning after setting up the images last night, but that didn't work out. So, here I am attempting to finish this before the KC Chiefs game kicks off..

What Am I Currently Reading?

I had to choose between reading and sleeping this past week due to scheduling constraints—and I picked sleep. However, I did finish Dune: The Duke of Caladan. It wasn't until Friday night that I had time to read again. Instead of reading Thief of Fate by Jude Deveraux and Tara Sheets, I picked up Star Trek: TOSHarm's Way by David Mack. I'm on page 207, yet Goodreads says I've read 56% of the book, which is untrue. Although the book only contains 351 pages, Goodreads lists the page count as 368.

What's New on the Shelf?

It was a busy week; I didn't have time to run errands until Saturday morning, which included making a stop at the thrift store and picking up four ten-cent paperbacks: To Kill A Mockingbird (50th Anniversary Edition), Broken by Karin Slaughter, A Faint Cold Fear by Karin Slaughter, and The Concrete Blonde by Michael Connelly.

New titles on my Kindle are Off the Grid by C.J. Box, Star Trek: Enterprise—The Romulan War: Beneath the Raptor's Wing by Michael A. Martin, Star Trek: Enterprise—The Romulan War: To Brave the Storm by Michael A. Martin, and Star Trek: TOS—The Antares Maelstrom by Greg Cox.

    1. I only snagged three Star Trek titles out of the 12 that were on sale for December; the rest were repeats. It all depends on the author as to whether or not I will like the TOS novels; some writers are better than others.

  2. I've been choosing sleep over reading all year. My TBR shelf hates me, but compromises must be made. Enjoy your new books!
