"Tell us, for God's sake," Ilonka said, totally enthralled.

page 56, "The Midnight Club" by Christopher Pike

My Thoughts

I reread The Midnight Cub by Christopher Pike, a young adult book I first read twenty-eight years ago, to coincide with the Netflix version that premieres today. Although The Midnight Club isn't my favorite Pike novel, I'm delighted a television series has been made of it. Ever since last year's Fear Street film trilogy, Hollywood appears to have developed a fascination with teen horror novels from the 1980s and 1990s. I hope future "Point Horror" adaptations will follow suit.

    1. Actually, Ilonka is attempting to convince Anya to share her "devil" story with the group.

  3. Well. how did the book weather time? I often am shocked how some books just don't manage to stay relevant over the years.
