{Sunday Post}—Fairy Tales Do Come True!

The Caffeinated Book Reviewer's Kimberly hosts a weekly meme called "The Sunday Post"!

Hello, fellow bloggers!

  • It appears that my creative juices only begin to flow after midnight, so I guess I'm back to being a night owl.

  • Thank goodness there are just three more Dark Shadows reviews to write. I enjoy the series, but reading the same old Barnabas tales is becoming tedious.

  • The Kansas City Chiefs are 2-0 after one week of the 2022 NFL season.

  • On Saturday, the Kansas City Royals defeated the Boston Red Sox 9-0. The Royals are still bad. They have a 58-88 record and are 21.5 games behind in the ALC.

What Am I Currently Reading?

I'm alternately reading Stephen King: A Complete Exploration of His Work, Life, and Influences and James Patterson's Blowback. I'm almost done with Stephen King's biography and 16% through Blowback.

What is New on the Shelf?

I finally found a copy of Stephen King's Fairy Tale. I've just taken a quick look at it, but it looks like a great read. The question is when I will have time to read it because I have so many other books to read first.

  1. I'm just the opposite of a night owl. I'm usually in bed by 9:30 and up at 4 a.m. That's when I do my blogging and writing. Here's my Sunday Post: https://bonniereadsandwrites.com/2022/09/17/sundaypost-beaches-sunsets-and-pelicans/

    1. This morning at three, I awoke. I had a restful night of sleep, so I feel rejuvenated. Actually, the only reason I was up was to jot down a story idea before I forgot it. I haven't tried to write any fiction in a while, but I've been hankering to.

  2. Glad you finally found Stephen King's latest! That's a plus! I think I've only ever read a novella from him. I guess I'm not big on that brand of horror. But naturally, you have to respect the master! Lol.

Hope you enjoy your new read once you get a chance to read it!

    Here's my StS

    1. Yes, I discovered the Fairy Tale at Walmart last Monday. It was the only new book on their shelf, so I assumed they only had it there after I inquired about it two days earlier.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading Stephen King: A Complete Exploration of His Work, Life, and Influences, which I obtained from NetGalley. I'm now working on my review of it. There are many pictures, book covers, and movie posters in it. The book will have to go on my wishlist as I want to have a printed copy.

The Dark Tower fantasy trilogy, The Green Mile, The Shawshank Redemption, the Billy Hodges Trilogy, and 11/22/63 are among Stephen King's other works. He is most recognized for his horror epics, though.

  3. Yes, I am so happy for our Chiefs! Disappointed in our Royals, but not surprised. It's how it seems to go with them. The new Stephen King book looks more like the type of his books I enjoy, so I need to get ahold of it, although like you, no idea when I'll read it! Have a great week!

    1. The Royals must organize their staff and fire all of its managers. Since game 2 was so close to game 1, I assumed the Chiefs would lose, but they just barely prevailed.

  4. I like that Barnabas Collins cover but it looks like it was only a two star. And Margaux- yikes. Guess that one wasn't too hot.

I like the song too- and points to her for the Iron Maiden shirt :)

    1. On a scale of 1 to 5, I awarded the Dark Shadows book a 2.5. Yes, Margaux was terrible.
