  Billy's Answer

Being a fan of both novels, this is a difficult question to answer, but Dracula is scarier than Frankenstein. While Dr. Victor Frankenstein's creation is the 'creature' in Mary Shelley's tale, Victor is the protagonist and villain. Whereas in Dracula, Count Dracula himself is the villain, one that creeps in the darkness. Frankenstein is more grounded in science, and Dracula is supernatural fiction, though the character was inspired by Vlad the Impaler.

  1. I've only read Dracula myself, but have Frankenstein in my TBR as well. Based on what I know, I chose Dracula as well.

  2. I have to agree Billy! I also find Dracula way scarier and Frankenstein more of a science project.

    Have a good weekend!

  3. While I agree that Dracula is more "technically" scary I'm still on the side of Frankenstein, but then I'm a sucker for societal criticism... but then if you read Dracula as a novel about fears around immigration you get that as well xD Thanks for hosting and have a lovely weekend :)

  4. I watched The Omen as a child and that left me with an aversion to anything horror, so I have zero opinion on which is scarier as I'm happy to avoid both.😊
