The Iotian obsession with anachronistic Earthly expressions, Rios decided, might actually be an evolutionary trait favored by natural selection.

My Thoughts

I don't know much about Rogue Elements except it's a prequel to the Star Trek: Picard series. Gallery Books had sent over a hardcover copy, which I received today (Wednesday). Like most of the recent Star Trek shows, I had mixed feelings about Star Trek: Picard. The first season had a unique idea, but I thought the series had misguided writing and clueless showrunners. The only new character I found interesting was Cristobal Rios, the captain of the La Sirena. Rogue Elements is his origins, set before the events in Star Trek: Picard. The author is John Jackson Miller, a veteran writer when it comes to science fiction tie-ins. He has written many stories set in the universes of Star Trek, Star Wars, and Battlestar Galactica.

    1. LOL! Star Trek: Picard is just the name of the series. The character on the cover is Cristobal Rios.
