  Billy's Answer

It all depends on whom I am recommending to the genre. While I enjoy reading romances and fantasies, the genres aren’t for everyone. Depending on the subgenre, a romance reader will read specific romances. For example, a Christian reader will most likely read an Amish romance instead of a Harlequin, and steamy-love-scene readers will always pick a Harlequin title over an Amish love story. Yes, a reader can like two subgenres or more, but others tend to stick to their favorites. Also, fantasy can be difficult to follow, especially for newbies. Instead of recommending a genre, I would rather recommend authors, such as Jude Deveraux and Beverly Lewis.

  2. Yeah, book recommendations are hard. I've always said every book is not for everyone. A reader may loathe a widely popular book after reading it. It happens. Though I did recommend some favorites within the genres listed!

    1. I always find it hard recommending books and movies to others, as my tastes/likes are unique to me alone.

    1. Recommending authors to another reader is the safest route to take. There's a higher chance the reader will like at least one of the author's books.

  6. There is such a wide variety of sub-genres that it's very tricky to recommend a particular book. Like you, I prefer to recommend authors, Billy.
Hope you have a great weekend.
