"Well, what does it amount to? Machines. Complex, and organic, but not life."

My Thoughts

Being quarantined sucks! The county I live in is locked down due to the coronavirus, which means the library is currently closed until all of this mess is over with. Thank God for the internet! Over six weeks ago, I signed up for OverDrive, which is basically an online public library where you can checkout eBooks through your local library (or state). Specifically, I've been wanting to read Star Trek: Picard: The Last Best Hope. After being on a six-week wait list, I now have the novel on my Kindle for the next three weeks, though I'll probably return it as soon as I'm done reading it.

  1. Overdrive is awesome. Also see if your library has Hoopla, another source for ebooks and audiobooks.

I like reading Star Trek books but haven't tried any Picard ones yet. Enjoy!

    1. I've never heard of Hoopla. I'll have to check if my library offers it.

There's only one Picard novel out, though I do believe there are 3 comic books that were released prior to the new series.

    1. There's plenty of them to choose from as there are over 800+ Star Trek titles.

    1. Not unless you're a diehard Star Trek fan, then you've probably haven't heard of the novel. Star Trek novels hardly ever get any media buzz. Once upon a time, you could find Star Trek titles just about anywhere that sold books, now it's hard to find them in stores.

    1. Have you seen the new series? I binge-watched it last week. I have mixed feelings about it. I liked the concept but the scripts were badly written and the CGI was poorly done.

    1. There's currently a "free month" for new subscribers to CBS All-Access, which is how I had watched the series last week.

  6. I wouldn't have survived without the internet for sure. Sad times we have going right now...
I loved watching a few Star Trek movies on TV last year, I need to pick it back up!

    1. Seems like we're all relying on the internet more and more, especially with all the lockdowns. I'm in Missouri and the entire state will be on "stay-at-home" orders starting April 6th, which is not a big deal for me as my county has been locked-down for a week.
