My Thoughts
I couldn't have a Holiday Gift Guide without having something with a horror-theme, so today I'm featuring the Horror Hall of Fame DVD set from Mill Creek Entertainment, which has 26 classic horror films on 9 discs.Are these new releases?Well, the answer is no. The set contains five previously released DVD collections: Boris Karloff Collection, Hammer Films Collection: Volume One, Hammer Films Collection: Volume Two, Classic Horror: 4 Movie Colection, and the Vincent Price Collection. The only differences is that the DVDs are bundled together in a new slipcover. The Two Faces of Dr. Jekyll - (1960 - Christopher Lee)If you like classic and strange horror flicks, then this collection is for you. While I like most of the films in the set, my favorites are The Revenge of Frankenstein, House on Haunted Hill (the original), Last Man on Earth (aka I Am a Legend), The Curse of the Mummy's Tomb, Shock, Scream of Fear, and Five (a must see with a Twilight Zone twisted ending!).None of the films have been restored, so the picture & sound quality varies per film; though most of them are pretty decent.Overall, I do like the Horror Hall of Fame: 26 Classic Horror Films DVD Set. It would a great gift for any horror fan.
