Some of you might remember me reviewing Murder is No Accident by A.H. Gabhart. (Read my review here!) earlier this year. For some odd reason, I reviewed the third book in the "A Hidden Springs Mystery" series before I had written the review for the second book, Murder Comes by Mail; though I had already read it. Now, here I am finally reviewing the book.
Murder Comes by Mail centers on Sheriff Michael Keane, who becomes a known as a hero after saving a suicidal man from jumping off the Eagle River bridge. A few of the witnesses took videos with their phones, which lead to the media getting a hold of the story.
Out of nowhere, pictures of a dead girl arrives in the mail, and for some reason Michael believes the man he saved on the bridge is the killer. Michael must unravel the mystery before someone else gets hurt.
Final Thoughts
I'm a cat lover, so naturally the cover art appealed to me because of the cat sitting on the mailbox. The author has a great way with words, and her writing talents shine well in this book. The main character, Sheriff Michael Keane, is well-written and is very likeable, as well are all the minor and side characters. This is a Christian novel, so the murder-mystery is clean-cut, and plays out like a made-for-Hallmark television movie.
Overall, I enjoyed reading Murder Comes by Mail. Yes, there are a few cliched moments here and there, but none that stopped me from liking the story. If you're looking for a fun mystery, then I recommend all the books in the Hidden Springs Mystery series.
