Billy's Thoughts:

Yes, I'm well aware that bread makers get a bad rap as the wrong gift to give for a wedding, mostly thanks to Will Ferrell's vehicle "Old School," but I think it's a great gift to give anyone on any occasion, especially for Christmas.

Let's face the facts! Everyone is busy these days with jobs, school, kids, etc., so finding time to make homemade doughs, breads, etc. is almost impossible to accomplish. The good news is that owning a bread maker will easily solve all your problems. Most brands have delayed timers, so all you have to do is put the ingredients in it, pick the right programing for it, set the timer, and then you're already to have a loaf of bread waiting for you when you get home.

While there are many brands (good & bad), I'm recommending the SKG Bread Maker from (well you probably guessed it) SKG. It retails for $134.77, but it can currently be purchased on Amazon for $97!

I've owned a couple of bread makers over the years, and the SKG is the best one that I've ever used. It features 19 different programs (modes): Basic (basic bread), Quick (quick bread), Sweet (sweet bread), French (french bread), Whole Wheat (whole-wheat bread), Rice Bread, Gluten Free (gluten free bread), Dessert (make desserts), Mix (mixes/stirs flour mixture with liquids), Dough (only makes dough), Knead (self-defining kneading), Cake (makes cakes), Jam (makes jam), Yogurt (makes yogurt), Bake (bakes only), Sticky Rice (makes sticky rice), Rice Wine (makes rice wine), Defrost and Stir-Fry.

As you can see this bread machine does a lot more than just baking bread. It can bake a variety of different desserts. As for breads, you can bake between 1lb to 2.2lbs and choose between three color settings - Light, Medium or Dark. The timer can be set up to 15 hours later!

Additionally, the bread maker comes with a kneading blade, measuring cup, measuring spoon and a metal hook for lifting out the kneading blade. It also comes with an instruction manual, which features recipes for all 19 programs.

Like any new kitchen appliance, I recommend reading the manual before testing it out as every bread machine is completely different.

Overall, I absolutely love the SKG Bread Maker. It's very simple to use and has many different baking options to choose from. One of the problems I had with other bread makers was that it never baked the bread all the way through. I'm glad to say that I didn't have this problem with the SKG Bread Maker as it bakes everything perfectly.

There's still plenty of time to order the SKG Bread Maker for a Christmas gift this year.

*Disclaimer - I received a complimentary bread maker in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own.
