Review:

Well, I have had fun this year reading the wonderful Quilts of Love series from Abingdon Press. Each book in the series is written by a different author(s) along with a fresh plot and new characters.

The newest release in the series is titled Swept Away and is coauthored by Laura V. Hilton & Cindy Loven. The novel centers on a school teacher, Sara Jane Morgan, who has to deal with her match-making grandmother. Her grandma is very crafty, as she uses an excuse to help Sara learn how to quilt, but in reality it was just a clever way to get her to come over and meet the single handyman, Drew Stevenson.

While Sara wasn't exactly looking for a romance, she is attracted to Drew and finds his passion as an artisan interesting. Just like most people today, she basically "Google" him and discovers that he has a troubling past that took place in the Appalachian Trail. She wants to ends things with him right there, but her feelings for him gives her the ability to find out what really happened to Drew.

While I thought Swept Away was beautifully written by the authors, another part of me kept thinking that there was just something missing with the plot, but I can't put my finger on it. The plot does remind me of a Hallmark TV-movie, but at times it felt a little cliched. The characters were written well and I especially liked the grandmother. Overall, Swept Away may have its flaws here and there, but it is a sweet romantic read.
