If you have ever been channel surfing late at night, then there is probably a chance that you came across an episode of Robot Chicken on Adult Swim. The series was created by Seth Green and Matthew Senreich. It premiered in 2005 and has become a ratings hit for the Cartoon Network. The premise of each episode (runs around 11-12 minutes each) follows a sketch-comedy format, where the series spoofs cartoons, movies and pop culture.
Since December 2005, Robot Chicken has aired six Christmas specials and each and every one is a parody of Christmas movies, specials and a little bit of everything else you can think of. Seth Green voices Santa Claus in the earlier specials while Seth Macfarlane takes over the role for the rest.
The six specials on the DVD are:
Robot Chicken's Christmas Special (2005)
Robot Chicken's Half-Assed Christmas Special (2007)
Robot Chicken's Full-Assed Christmas Special (2009)
Robot Chicken's DP Christmas Special (2010)
Robot Chicken's ATM Christmas Special (2012)
Robot Chicken's Born Again Virgin Christmas Special (2013)
Robot Chicken definitely isn't for little kids as all the episodes have violence and bad language, except for the first Christmas Special which is mostly censored. Yes, some viewers may be offended by the jokes, but to me it is all in good fun. Personally, I liked the segments spoofs of Peanuts, G.I. Joe and How The Grinch Stole Christmas. Overall, Robot Chicken: Christmas Specials is a hilarious DVD and it would make a great stocking stuffer for any adult fan.
