Review:
Arriving on DVD today from Nickelodeon is the animated adventures series Lalaloopsy: Friends are Sew Special!, featuring four 22-minute episodes. As an added bonus, each DVD comes with a Sew Cute Lacing Kit.
The cute rag dolls first originated under in the name Bitty Buttons in 2010, shortly before changing the name to Lalaloopsy. After the toys became successful, a video game was released, quickly followed by several animated specials in the 2012 and early 2013. Then of course the animated series launched in March 2013.
Now you can take a trip to Lalaloopsy Land anytime you want to with this week's release of Lalaloopsy: Friends are Sew Special!
The four episodes on the single disc are:
Dot's Moon Mission - Dot's trip to the moon is up in the air when her spaceship breaks down.
Princess Parade - Jewel and her non-princess friends gather together to create a Princess Parade to showcase her tiara collection.
Spot-it-is - A mysterious illness has spread across Lalaloopsy Land and it is up to Rosy to find a cure to save her friends.
Flight Plan - Pix E dreams of flying, but there is one little problem - she is afraid of heights.
I seldom get a chance to check out any programs non Nick Jr., so this is the first time I have heard about Lalaloopsy. The animated program is aimed for young preschool girls, which somewhat reminds me of Strawberry Shortcake. The four episodes I reviewed are cute, well-animated and have a decent storyline. I'm sure kids (yeah, there may be a few boys who may like it or get stuck watching it with their sister) will enjoy watching it.
