Top 5 Reasons Why To Retire to Florida!

I know Christmas is just over a week away, but there are some people still stumped on what to buy their parents, as they probably have every knick knack every created. Why don't your just think outside of the box this year and look into getting a second home or vacation home for your parents in Florida.

Why Florida?

Here are my top 5 reasons why to retire in Florida:

  1. Warm Weather - Let's face it, nobody likes the cold winter weather (unless you live in Alaska). You can slip and fall while walking to your mail box. Florida has warm weather all year long. Plus, you can save money on salt!
  2. Great Homes/Condos - Florida is famous for its beach properties with homes ranging from millions of dollars to more affordable prices, but make sure you don't fall for the timeshare scams. With more and more retires heading down to Florida, there are now plenty of new homes for 55+.
  3. Golfing - Yes, golfing is extremely popular in Florida with golf courses around every corner. There are many retirement communities that have their own private golf course. This would make the perfect place to live for any golf fan.
  4. Fishing - Living near the shore does has its benefits, and I'm not talking about Spring Break. There are plenty of shoreline fishing areas to fish at, but remember to get your license first. If you have a boat, you can fish even beyond the shoreline. If you prefer a home near the lake, there are plenty of communities and homes near them too. For more information click here!
  5. Disney World and Other Attractions - Retires have plenty of places to take their visiting grandchildren, like Disney World and Universal Studios.

Yes, I know purchasing, leasing or renting a home for your parents in Florida can be expensive, but if you chip in with your other siblings, you can pull it off and get your parents the perfect gift.
