What Is The Best Noise Cancelling Headphones?

I've always had a passion for music. I am what you would call tone-deaf, as I cannot carry a tune. And I don't have the skills to play a musical instrument; though I can play some beats on a snare drum and, once upon a time, I could play "Silent Night" on a keyboard. I guess you can call me more of a music lover than anything else.

As a kid, I would listen to Walkman until the batteries died. During my teenage years, I jammed to a portable CD player and a loud stereo that annoyed my parents. Now, nearing the big 40, I mostly listen to digital music on my laptop, MP3 player, and, on occasionally, my cell phone.

During the last few years, I have gone through many (and I mean many) headphones! Some were cheap and others were mildly expensive. No matter what the price, the headphones never last very long, which may have something to do with me being rough with them. Yeah, I toss them around here and there.

What is the best Noise Cancelling Headphones?

I've heard outstanding things about the Beats and Bose headphones, but the ones I have seen in the stores are too pricey. Rakuten.com has an extensive selection of headphones, which includes Beats, Boss, and many other brands, and the prices seem reasonable.

Has anyone purchased anything from Rakuten? What's the best headphone brand?

I have bought nothing from there, so I am curious what others think about the website.
