[Blu-ray Review]—Jurassic World Dominion (2022)

Jurassic World Dominion is now available in physical (4K UHD, Blu-ray, and DVD) and digital formats from Universal Pictures Home Entertainment. It is the third and final installment in the Jurassic World trilogy, and the sixth overall in the series, which began in 1993 with Jurassic Park. (Adapted from Michael Crichton's thriller of the same name.) The Extended Edition includes both the 147-minute theatrical and the 160-minute extended versions of the film.

Yikes! A canker sore is coming in.

I'm still painting my mother's kitchen, slightly over halfway finished. I'm at the point where I'll have to move a table and chairs and a heavy buffet cabinet. Oh, fun!

I have too many side projects taking up most of my free time. I had to sideline writing reviews in exchange for sleep.

My Dark Shadows reviews will return on August 25th.

[DVD Review]—White Elephant (2022)

On August 2nd, RLJE Films (a division of AMC Networks) released the low-budget actioner White Elephant on DVD and Blu-ray. It's one of the final films starring the now-retired Bruce Willis (the Die Hard franchise), and it's directed by Jesse V. Johnson (who co-wrote the screenplay with Erik Martinez).

The Lost Bookmark

In January, I had preordered two bookmarks (Gilmore Girls and Buffy the Vampire Slayer) from Trends International. The bookmarks were supposed to ship in March. As many of you already know, my grandmother died from COVID-19 complications on January 29th, which threw my life off balance. I had forgotten about the bookmarks until the tail-end of July and contacted Trends's customer support. They were super-fast in responding. The Buffy bookmark was discontinued (though I've seen it for sale on eBay) for reasons not provided. They refunded me in full via PayPal and said they were sending me the Gilmore Girls bookmark for free. A few days later, I received a UPS packaging containing a Sunsets 2023 mini-calendar from Trends International. I never ordered a calendar. My birthday isn't until September, so it wasn't a gift from someone. Then I checked the "carton packing list" and noticed "Gilmore Girls - Premier Bookmark" in the description. I contacted customer service, and they replied, stating it was a warehouse error and that they were still sending the bookmark. As you can see in the above photo, I finally got my hands on the Gilmore Girls bookmark.

[Review] - 'The Foe of Barnabas Collins' by Marilyn Ross

Barnabas Collins is back in the ninth Dark Shadows novel - The Foe of Barnabas Collins. The gothic-romantic romp became available to the public in July 1969. Once again, Marilyn Ross gets credit as the author. FYI - Marilyn is the pseudonym for the late author William Edward Daniel Ross.
