Review - Nancy Drew: Labyrinth of Lies

*This is a sponsored review. All opinions are 100% mine.

I've been blogging for over five years and I would have never thought I would be reviewing a PC game, but that is exactly what I'm doing today - writing a review for the recently released Nancy Drew: Labyrinth of Lies (retails at $19.99).

Almost everyone has  probably heard of Nancy Drew, the popular young adult mystery series was originally created by Edward Stratemeyer, but most of the books were ghostwritten. Many spin-offs soon followed, including The Nancy Drew Files, Nancy Drew Notebooks, Nancy Drew and the Clue Crew, Nancy Drew On Campus, Nancy Drew Diaries and Nancy Drew, Girl Detective. Though many of us probably remember the character from the ABC short-lived series The Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew Mysteries and the 2007 feature film with Emma Roberts playing Nancy Drew.

Starting in 1998, Her Interactive began the Nancy Drew: A Mystery Adventure PC game series. Fast forward to 2014, the series has just released its 31st case, titled Nancy Drew: Labyrinith of Lies. Similar to other games in the series, this installment is rated E10+!

Of the course the plot of the game centers on the one and the only Nancy Drew (voiced by Lani Minella), who has been hired by the curator, Melina Rosi, of the Phidias Cultural Center in Greece to help out during the museum's most anticipated event of the year - Persephone in Winter, a play about the myth of Persephone. The play will take place in the amphitheater in the attempt to bring in a new visitors for the Life in Ancient Greece exhibit.

Review - Mysterious Creatures the Game

Growing up an only child, I didn't play very many board games (though I did own many) unless it was with my cousins, my aunt, or when I could talk my parents and grandparents into playing. By the time I started school video games where starting to become popular, therefore I played Super Mario Bros. with my friends.

Now as an adult, I realize the importance of interacting with another player instead of a television or computer screen.

Recently, I had the opportunity to review a new educational game titled Mysterious Creatures the Game, courtesy of Education Outdoors in exchange for my honest review. I received the game by UPS within a few days in a nicely packaged box.

Mysterious Creatures requires up to four players between the ages of 8 and up. There are some small game pieces, so children under the age of three shouldn't be around the game.

Great Halloween Games

October is nearly half way through and I can already smell the Halloween candy. Besides from trick-or-treating, kids look forward to having a Halloween party, normally thrown by the room mothers/fathers. Typically a school Halloween party consists of  the kids receiving a treat bag, watching a family-friendly movie, and playing a few games, such as guessing the amount of candy corn in a jar; bobbing for apples; or playing candy wrapper relay races.

Recently I had the opportunity to review the Halloween Party Games Pack that retails for $19.95. There are forty games that are mostly aimed for kids, but a few are more for teenagers and adults, such as Twisted Horror Movie Titles; Stephen King Books and Movies Titles Trivia; Who's The Bad Guy? Trivia; Horror Movies Crosswords; Teen Twilight Crossword; Scary Synopsis Horror Movie Trivia; and Halloween Newlywed Game Questions.

There are great games include in the pack for elementary/middle-grade Halloween Parties such as Pin the Head on the Monster; Halloween Coloring Pages; Crafty Pumpkin Decorating Ideas; Werewolf Spot the Difference; Halloween Costume Word Search; and Halloween Synonyms for Kid.

My favorite games from this pack are Twisted Horror Movie Titles and Who's the Bad Guy?, in which I knew all the answers. All the games are printable, so you can make copies of the games at your school, office, or even in your own home.
