    I prefer the quiet too when I'm reading. Otherwise I sometimes find myself listening to the noise/sound more (if it's TV) when I'm reading.

    Quiet, noisy, it doesn't matter. The only thing I really can't read through is if someone is trying to talk to me.

    I also prefer to read in quiet spaces. I have a hard time concentrating in general when I hear a lot of outside noise, so it's important for me to have [mostly] silence when I read.

    I prefer the quiet. If it's not quiet I get distracted to easy.

    If the choice is quiet v. noisy, give me quiet. But I prefer some music in the background to either.
