{Sunday Post} - Alias Grace, A Relative Murder, and Sherlock Holmes vs. Frankenstein

Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer!

Good Afternoon , Everyone!

What Am I Reading?

I'm still reading Terrence Fisher: Master of Gothic Cinema. I'm on page 273. Mira sent over A Relative Murder by Jude Deveraux to review. I'll start reading it in the next couple of days.

What's New On The Bookshelf?

I picked three books at a thrift store - Alias Grace by Margaret Atwood, Outlander by Diana Gabaldon, and The Girl Who Lived Twice by David Lagercrantz. As you can see in the above photo, The Girl Who Lived Twice is missing its front cover. The paperback edition came out in 2020, so wondering what it's been through to have a torn cover. It was the only book in the series that I didn't own, and since it was only ten cents, a cover missing isn't going to bother me.

One of these days, I need to finish reading Outlander by Diana Gabaldon because I now have three copies, with the newest one being the 1991 hardcover edition. Depending on where you look, people online are asking from $6 to $600 for this edition. Glad I only paid 25 cents for my copy.

I've never read Alias Grace, but I'm aware of the movie or limited series on Netflix, which I have never seen. I've only read The Handmaid's Tale by the author.

New titles on my Kindle are Star Trek: TNG: Chains of Command by W.A. McCay and E.L. Flood, Star Trek: Enterprise: By the Book by Dean Wesley Smith and Kristine Kathryn Rusch, Star Trek: DS9: Vengeance by Dafydd ab Hugh, and Sherlock Holmes vs. Frankenstein by David Whitehead.

  1. The Outlander cover is gorgeous. I loved that book when I read it almost 25 years ago. Enjoy your books and week!

  3. I keep meaning to read Outlander but the page count scares me off! I love the cover of your copy. Have a wonderful week!

  4. I have a couple of Star Trek tie ins around here, but I never read them. Probably something about me being a marginal Star Trek fan. (Then again, I haven't read all of my Babylon 5 tie ins and I'm a HUGE Bab5 fanatic.)
