I didn’t post last week’s Sunday Post because I was sick with a cold sore, and it’s also why there has been a lack of reviews on this blog. Hopefully, I can get back in the groove of things soon, as I have several reviews planned.
Sometime this week, I will start reading Under a Full Moon by Alice Kay Hill, and I’ll post the review on September 7th (otherwise known as my 39th birthday or Labor Day) for a book tour. I’m scheduled to review a book titled Secret Legacy on September 8th for another book tour, but as of today, I haven’t received an ARC.
There's been nothing new in the mail, though a few things should be arriving this week, if the USPS doesn't lose anything.
More Movies!
The small Dollar Tree store in my town has been getting in a slew of $1 DVDs and Blu-rays. I picked up Scary Stories (documentary), Beyond the Mask, The Jurassic Dead, Dark Was the Night, The Jurassic Dead, Clowntown, Frankenstein, Darkness Reigns, At the Gate of the Ghost, High Voltage, Anthem of a Teenage Prophet, Playback, Predator World, The Church, The Killing House / Headhunters: The Assessment Weekend / Curtains, Chawz, Dangerous Worry Dolls / Demonic Toys 2 / Doll Graveyard, Killers Within, Horror Collection Extravaganza (Created To Kill / Night of the Demon / The Hooker Cult Murders / Sister Sister / Intimate Stranger / Shadow Play), Death House, and Pledges.
What's New on the Bookshelf?
The most recent book is At Death's Door by Sherrilyn Kenyon, which I stumbled upon at Walmart. I rarely buy paperbacks at full price anymore (minus James Patterson's titles) and only picked up At Death's Door because I liked the cover.
On the first of every month, when the coffee’s strong and the inbox is quiet, a little dispatch arrives. It carries the scent of last month’s book and movie reviews, the echoes of weekly blog hops, and the occasional ramble scribbled between sips. It’s not urgent. It’s not polished. But it’s honest—and it’s yours if you want it.
Bookworm extraordinaire with a caffeine addiction, I’ve spent years dodging reality in the pages of novels—from spine-tingling thrillers to Westerns that make me feel like a cowboy. I like that Evanescence song a lot.
