My Father was fond of quoting Dante Gabriel Rossetti after my mother died. "Beauty without the beloved is like a sword through the heart." I thought of it at his funeral. It eased my pain to think he would no longer suffer a sword through his heart.

  My Thoughts

I'm not for sure why I keep reading the new V.C. Andrews' titles, as many of the ghostwritten installments have been bad. The Silhouette Girl marks the first time Gallery Books has published a V.C. Andrews' title, so maybe this one will be better. However, Andrew Neiderman is the still the ghostwriter, so I shouldn't keep my hopes up that the book will actually be good. My review for it will be posted on Monday!

  2. I remember reading some of V C Andrews books as a teenager. They were pretty melodramatic, but I have to admit they were compelling too.

    1. Most of the ghostwriter's novels were melodramatic. The real V.C. Andrews only wrote Flowers in the Attic, Petals in the Wind, If There Be Thorns, Seeds of Yesterday, My Sweet Audrina, Heaven, and Dark Angel, all of which have a Gothic vibe, unlike the most recent ghostwriter books.

    2. V.C. Andrews also wrote the science fiction novel, Gods of Green Mountain.

  3. I love V.C. Andrews books, even now. They have been books I have always read throughout the years since I was an older teen. Have to check this one out further, I imagine this is a newer one written by her estate. They're often good, though hers are still better. :-) Happy weekend!

  4. I like the quote. I've never read the author though. This week I am spotlighting Whispers Under Ground by Ben Aaronovitch as I try to finish a series I just discovered. Happy reading!
