My Answer:

Audio books have been around since the 1930s, and while the technology has changed over the years, they'll never be as popular as the written word.

  1. Gee, I didn't know that audio books had been around that long! WOW. But I totally agree with you -- they will NEVER be as popular as printed books! And I don't think ebooks will be, either. People will just have the option of choosing their favorite format of the three. I firmly believe that most people will continue to prefer printed books!

Happy Friday! Have a GREAT weekend full of reading!! :)

  2. I agree. They will never replace the smell of a real book and in fact can ruin a book with the wrong narrator.

  4. Great thinking...thanks.

    I love my print - I don't like e-books either. :)

I didn't know there has been audio since the 1930's. Wow!! Thanks for that bit of trivia.

    Happy Hopping!!

  5. I do like audio books but as an addition not a replacement to print books. I had no idea audio books had been around so long. That's fascinating!

  6. I've listened to parts of two audiobooks, but have never been able to make it through a whole one. I guess I'm old school; I like my 'book books'.

  7. I've always tried to get into audiobooks, since that would make life easier for my long commutes, but I just can't focus on them. I like being in control of how fast it goes and what I imagine voices to sound like, and where I place the emphasis on things.

  8. Like several others, I hadn't realized audio books had been around that long. I dont think audiobooks will over surpass paper books.
