Billy's Review:

Wow! Christmas Day is just over a week away, so may people will begin thinking about their New Year's Resolutions. If you're like me, then you will probably regret eating that extra piece of fudge or piece of pie around the holidays, which is one of the reasons why dieting and exercising is one of the most used New Year's Resolutions every year. Department stores will be having sales on exercise DVDs and fitness equipment around the first of the year, but if want to start your New Year's Resolution on January 1st, then you should plan ahead and decide what fitness program is the best for you.

I'm well aware of all the 90-day workout programs on the market, but after those 90-days are over you can either start the program over or look for a new program. What you need is a program that can last at least six months.

Recently, I got a chance to review the Out Of Your Mind Fitness Program (OOYM) which was created by WWE wrestler John Hennigan and personal fitness instructor Jeff Carrier. The program consists of 6 DVDs, instruction book and a training log book.

Unlike other fitness programs, OOYM is meant to be used in an actual gym, as you'll need a few exercise machines that you most likely don't have in your own home gym. The 6 DVDs contains detailed move-by-move instructions of more than 175 exercises, plus dynamic warm-ups, over the course of five different levels. The exercises featured on the DVDs are meant  to be instructional only - for you to learn how to do each exercise. Once you get a feel for the exercises you can take the training log to the gym to start the workout program, which you'll start out with three days a week for the first level. If you have a Smartphone you can access the training log and videos from an app.

OOYM has five different levels and three-week Muscle Blitz workouts. The base of the program is Level 1, which is a basically design to reboot your neglected muscles through full-body workouts. Once you have the foundation down, you can then jump into Level 2, which features Total Body Integration (TBI) and plyometrics. This level has you working out four days a week instead of three days. Level 3 will focus on helping you gain strength by increasing the volume and intensity of the workouts. You'll be working out five days a week in Level 4, which has you doing power-based exercises. After you completed Level 4, the next-three weeks will have more of structured routines with the Muscle Blitz!!! This is mostly a recover week, getting your muscles and joints time to rest before jumping into the final level. Level 5 is the ultimate level, making you use everything you have learned throughout the program.

I didn't know exactly what I was getting myself into when I signed up to review the Out Of Your Mind Fitness Program. I figured it was similar to P90X, GSP Rushfit, TapouT and other 90-day at-home workout programs, but instead it is a 35-week gym program. You could probably do the workouts at home if you have the right exercise machines, but most people probably don't have them. The DVDs contain the instructions on each exercise, instead of having a full workout like other programs. The training log book is the actual tool you need to the complete the exercises. It’s like having your very own personal trainer, except the program was created by a professional wrestler and a real personal trainer. Personal trainers can be costly, so the OOYM Fitness can save you time and money. Overall, I think the OOYM Fitness Program is professionally and scientifically put together to help anybody get into shape over the course of 35 weeks. The program could make a great Christmas gift this year to a family member or friend!
