Learning to tie a bow can help children build confidence and self-esteem.

I tied my first bow when I was a six-year-old in kindergarten class, where my classmates and I were learning how to tie shoestrings on big plastic shoes. At the time, I was used to wearing Velcro shoes, so I had a bit of trouble tying a shoelace bow. Well, that is until a fellow student, Andrea, taught me how to loop, swoop, and pull. From then on, I had no trouble tying shoestrings.

Good Afternoon, Everyone!

Everyone, thank you for all the kind comments in my last Sunday Post. I haven't gotten around to writing replies, but I do appreciate all of them. My grandmother isn't doing any better. She has "officially" been diagnosed with late-stage Alzheimer's Disease. We had to sign her up for hospice care on Friday. Her vitals are fine, but she has lost nearly 20 pounds within the last two months. She has her good days and bad days. What I mean is there are days she can say complete sentences and days when she cannot. If you ask her what her name is, she replies, "No." My mother visited her this afternoon and said she seemed to be more alert.

What Am I Reading?

I read the forward from The Amityville Horror II by John G. Jones a few days ago, but I haven't picked it up again. Though it was billed as 'non-fiction' upon its release in 1982, it's a fictionalized story picking up where the original book and movie left off. The forward's first line states Ronald DeFeo, Jr. was 22-years-old when he murdered his parents and siblings in November 1974, but this is incorrect. He was 23-years-old when he committed the murders. There are other inconsistencies in the Forward as well.

[Blu-ray Review] - THE MARKSMAN (2021)

Movie theaters are nearly dead here in the United States. While the COVID-19 pandemic is taking the blame, I believe it has more to do with Hollywood running out of ideas. All they have been pumping out for the last decade is bad remakes or CGI bloated superhero tales. Yes, I understand the latter makes money, but only a handful of these films are actually good. Then there are the artsy dramas that receive awards and get high praise from mainstream critics. Nobody in Hollywood will admit it, but these artsy movies are downright horrible. If a film isn't trending or doesn't contain a political message, the critics will more than likely give it a negative review. This is what happened with this year's action-thriller, THE MARKSMAN.
