Monday Morning Madness - Enola Holmes, Murder Thy Neighbor, and Monster, She Wrote

Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer!

Good Morning, Everyone!

The local Salvation Army accepts donations every other week, and last week was it, so I spent most of my free time helping my mother go through my grandma’s belongings that have been in a storage locker for a year and a half. We made about a dozen trips to the Salvation Army throughout the week.

FYI: My grandmother is doing fine in the nursing home.

I went through a closet and donated six boxes full of books to the Salvation Army and gave three other boxes of books to a family friend. I disassembled an old oversized TV stand that I had been using as a bookcase in my bedroom and got rid of it. I dragged out the my dresser and left it out with the garbage. Then I took apart the hand-me-down bed frame and stored it in the shed.

Why did I do all this?

I needed to get my grandma’s furniture out of storage. I took her iron headboard and bed frame, a six-drawer dresser with a tall mirror, a cedar chest, and a loveseat. My mother took the chest of drawers, a glass-cabinet TV stand, and a curio cabinet. Besides the last two, I had to lift everything else by myself, so my back is sore.

Also, I took a small bookcase that has seen better days. I went through some of my grandma’s books and took the ones I wanted, such as Eugenia Price, Victoria Holt, Janice Holt Giles, and a few other authors. There are a few other boxes of books in storage that I must go through today.

Sunday Post - Coven of Evil, Max Einstein, and Star Trek

Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer!

Good Morning, Everyone!

What Am I Reading?

I'm in between reads, and have no idea what title will be next. There are several eBooks I could read next. Also, I won an eBook from LibraryThing that I could potentially read soon. Or I could start reading the horror novels I have lined up for October.

The Midnight Horror Review - Coven of Evil (2020)

Maybe it has something to do with the lack of American horror flims being released because of the pandemic, but a slew of UK horror titles have found their way to VOD and DVD in the USA. Many horrors “reviewers” think British horror is a new thing. Believe it or not, the very first UK horror movie, Faust And Mephistopheles, came out in 1898!

Enough of my rambling. Let’s get on with tonight’s review of Coven of Evil (Not Rated, 100 minutes), a British satanism tale from writer/director Matthew J. Lawrence.

What's Better: Tea or Coffee?

Every caffeine lover has been asked at least once in their lifetime, “Tea or Coffee?”

As you can probably already tell by the name of this blog, Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer, I am a coffee lover. And, preferably, I like the caffeinated kind over decaf, though I have occasionally drunk the latter.

Now let us get back to the question, Tea or Coffee?
