{Sunday Post} — It Returned with a Vengeance

What Am I Reading?

My cold seemed to linger forever; just when I thought I had kicked it, it sneaked back with a vengeance. I’m sure it had something to do with shoveling over a foot of snow from my driveway last Monday afternoon. Now, I'm stuck in a bit of a reading slump. I haven’t even glanced at my TBR pile, let alone touched it. The only book I’ve been slowly working through since last week is Forty Times a Killer! I think I’m only on page 124... or thereabouts.

What's in the Mailbox?

And let’s talk about the mail service in the USA—it’s pathetic and seriously needs a complete overhaul. I finally received a belated Christmas gift from a friend—the book Such a Quiet Place by Megan Miranda. It was supposed to arrive around Christmas or a few days after, but it seemed to have gotten lost in la la land between Amazon and the USPS before magically arriving in the mailbox on Friday.

What's New on the Bookshelf?

Despite my attempts to curb my spending, I’m still buying James Patterson novels. My latest find is Holmes is Missing, coauthored by Brian Sitts.

New titles on my Kindle are: Batman: Resurrection by John Jackson Miller, The Originals: The Resurrection by Julie Pec, Marilyn Monroe: The Final Years by Keith Badman, Dakota by Matt Braun, and Killing Crazy Horse and Killing the SS by Bill O'Reilly and Martin Dugard.

  1. I hope your cold GOES and your reading mojo RETURNS! Yeah, let's do talk about the mail service. International is a problem, too. My manager ordered me something for Christmas and it just arrived at her house yesterday.

  2. I hope your cold goes away soon! I'm still trying to kick the last of mine out the door too. Feeling better than I did at the beginning of the year but can still feel bits of congestion. They always seem to linger for me.

Nice new reads! I can't wait to make time for Batman Resurrection myself! I loved the Tim Burton films with Michael Keaton! Hope you enjoy all of your reads!
