July is the month for reading by the pool or on the beach. What's your favorite summer beach book, and why is it suitable for a sunny day?

Billy's Answer
I live in the midwest, so there's no beach in my area. I can't swim, so I never go to the public pool. As for a summer beach read, I'm picking Jaws by Peter Benchley, which is probably the wrong book to pick if you don't know how to swim.

I can't see Jaws being a book you'd want to put down and take a dip in the water to cool off.
ReplyDeleteI can't swim, so I don't go into the water.
DeleteGreat minds think alike! Lol. I live in the Midwest too so we just have lakes around here, but they are kind of gross and I don't like going in them because of snakes! Eek! But I chose Jaws as well for the pure irony of it all!

Have a GREAT day!

Lakes have banks, not beaches. Yes, there are too many snakes—that's why I no longer fish at the county lake; it's full of snakes and turtles.
DeleteI've not seen or read Jaws. The thought puts me off the sea though. The sea near me (an hour's drive away) isn't always overly pleasant.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
If you can't swim or have a fear of the ocean, I wouldn't necessarily recommend reading or watching Jaws, though both the book and movie are excellent. The second film is good, but I don't recommend the third or fourth film.
DeleteLol. That's perfect for July, though. :)
ReplyDeleteJaws sounds like a good choice. :-)
