{Sunday Post} —The September House, The Haunted, and She Was the Quite One

The Caffeinated Book Reviewer's Kimberly hosts a weekly meme called "The Sunday Post"!

* Weekly Tidbits *

  • I need to reduce the frequency of my trips to thrift stores from weekly to maybe once or twice a month. I have many unread books on my shelves, and, to be quite honest, I need more shelf space. However, I should build my bookcases or acquire better, larger ones before rearranging my collection. I should also make the time to read all the novels I have on my WTRs (want to read) shelves. I have books on at least three shelves I want to read, and except for a few titles, I don't intend to keep all of them when I finish reading them.

What Am I Currently Reading?

I had another busy week with very little time for reading. As of this writing—Saturday afternoon—I'm currently on Chapter 5 in Star Trek: Picard: Second Self by Una McCormack. Next is The September House by Carissa Orlando, for which I received a digital copy from the publisher a few days ago.

What's New on the Shelf?

I had forgotten to mention in last week's post that I wanted to kill some time waiting for a hardware store to open up, so I browsed through a Dollar General store and bought two $3 paperbacks, Scorpion Strike by John Gilstrap and She Was the Quiet One by Michelle Campbell. Then, this past week, I picked up The Haunted by Bentley Little at a Walmart.

Now, on to the thrifting—I picked up quite a few ten-cent paperbacks: Assassin by Ted Bell, Traling by Max Brand, Deathwalk by Matt Braun, The Warlords by Matt Bruan, Stalemate by Iris Johansen, The Blessing Way by Tony Hllerman, The Matlock Paper by Robert Ludlum, and The Chancellor Manuscript by Robert Ludlum.

New on my Kindle is Frightmares by Eva V. Gibson.

  1. I always feel a modicum of guilt when I buy a new book as I see all my TBR books around and it's hard! Lol. I do want to read them all and I do want to read the new ones I keep discovering, so yeah, it's definitely a problem! I wish I could win the lottery and not have to work for the rest of my life, then I could dismantle the pile before I die! Lol.

    Hope you enjoy all the new reads you acquired!
