{Sunday Post} - Down Range, Open Season, and The Saboteurs

Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer!

Good Morning, Everyone!

I'm back after taking a leave of absence from the Sunday Post for the past two weeks.

I'm going to a movie theater for the first time in three years. I'm watching Top Gun: Maverick at my town's one-screen theatre. Ticket Prices are only $5.

The Kansas City Royals have a new winning streak - 3 games! They lost yesterday, so the winning streak is already over. They are 20-38.

What Am I Reading?

If my memory serves me correctly, I picked up Down Range by Taylor Moore before Memorial Day. I'm on page 263.

I'm not 100% sure what I'll be reading next. The contenders for my next read are Sounds of Dune by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson, Goosebumps SlappyWorld: Slappy in Dreamland by R.L. Stine, or The Songs That Could Have Been by Amanda Wen.

What's in the Mail?

The only books in the mail are the C.J. Box titles I ordered from Amazon - Open SeasonSavage Run, Winterkill, Trophy Hunt, and Out of Range.

What's New on the Bookshelf?

My local Walmart won't (or can't) stock their book department, despite their app claiming specific titles are in stock at that store. I located Treasure Hunters: The Ultimate Quest by James Patterson and Chris Grabenstein and The Saboteurs by Clive Cussler (1931 - 2020) Jack Du Brul in a neighboring county. I picked up We Are All That's Left by Carrie Arcos at a Dollar Tree.

Besides Down Range (which I've already mentioned), the only new physical books are The Polaris Protocol by Brad Taylor and The Ghost of Flight 401 by John G. Fuller, which I found at a thrift store.

On or around the 1st of every month, Simon & Schuster has a 99-cent sale on Star Trek eBooks. This month, they had the entire Star Trek: Titan series on sale, except for books 3 & 4. Why were these two books not on sale? I have no idea why they weren't in the sale. So, I bought The Red King by Andy Mangels and Michael A. Martin, Over a Torrent Sea by Christopher L. Bennett, Synthesis by James Swallow, Fallen Gods by Michael A. Martin, Absent Enemies by John Jackson Miller, Sight Unseen by James Swallow, and Fortune of War by David Mack. (FYI: I already own the first book.) There were three other titles in the sale, and the only one I didn't have was TNG: Collateral Damage by David Mack. Also, for $1.99, I got The Autobiography of Kathryn Janeway by Una McCormack. (FYI: The latter wasn't part of the monthly Star Trek sale.)

Other new Kindle eBooks include The Lords of Salem by Rob Zombie and B.K. Evenson, Firefly: Magnificent Nine by James Lovegrove, and Burnt Offerings by Robert Marasco.

  1. I hope you enjoy the movie! I haven't been to a theater since before COVID. :)

  2. Down Range looks pretty good. The Box books in general all have nice covers. And that's a great price for a movie. I haven't been going to movies as much lately...

  3. Hey, fellow Kansas Citian here! Our poor Royals are not doing great this year. I'm worried about the Chiefs too with some of the players we didn't keep. I went and saw Top Gun a week or so ago, it was so good! You got some good books too. Have a great week!
