Thanks to a lack of sleep and drinking a bit too much caffeine, my mind is currently running on totally different cylinders tonight. Instead of writing reviews and articles, I'm watching clips and interviews of older actresses on Youtube. Yes, I know that might sound a bit weird, but I sort of having a reason for it. I've been a Hammer Films fan since I was a little bitty kid, but my fascination with these gothic films has increased ever since I got my hands on the Hammer Films: The Ultimate Collection Blu-ray set from Mill Creek Entertainment. And I cannot exactly explain it, but a chain reaction took place. I bought several Hammer movies on DVD and Blu-ray from Scream Factory and Warner Archives and several VUDU digitals. Then I ordered the books "The Art of Hammer: Posters From The Archives of Hammer Films" and "Hammer Glamour: Classic Images From The Archives Of Hammer Films." The latter title is all about the gorgeous actresses who appeared in those films. I'm not naming names, but I have developed an infatuation with at least three of these women, even though they are all old enough to be my grandmothers.
It might sound a bit odd to some, but I've always found older women attractive. I don't mean every single older woman on the planet Earth. There are just some women that I find more alluring than others. It's difficult for me to explain in words why I find some women more attractive than others. Yes, looks / psychical attraction is high on my list. However, I am less into the size of a woman's measurements and more attracted to the color of her hair (preferably brunette or ginger) and eyes (blue is my favorite), and her attitude. Then, of course, having something in common, such as likes, dislikes, hobbies, etc., is always a giant plus for me.
From time to time, I like to surf the net for dating websites, and I've stumbled across many that are for senior dating. No, I have never joined one of these sites because most are for ages 50+. It's still over five months before I officially hit the middle-age mark, so I don't qualify age-wise for a senior dating site. If anyone reading this post happens to be single and falls into that particular age bracket, then you're in luck. You see, there are many dating apps and websites out there that are made just for mature individuals looking for friendship, companionship, or even marriage. Just do a quick "google" search, and you'll find just about every "niche" dating site imaginable.
Anyway, for those wondering if I'm planning on reviewing the two Hammer books - the answer is yes. Though, I don't know exactly when. Hopefully, I will get to them sometime later in the month or the early part of May. If I can kick myself into gear, I might review the movies under The Midnight Horror label, though they'll probably be more like retrospectives than reviews.
