Sunday Post - Ammonite, Star Trek, and Star Wars

Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer!

Good Morning, Everyone!

What Am I Reading?

I didn't read a single word last week. Why? I was sick for several days with a cold sore and didn't feel like reading. I need to finish reading The Umbrella Lady by V. C. Andrews (Andrew Neiderman) and move on to The Wicked Sister by Virginia Barlow for an upcoming book tour.

On my Kindle, I'm still reading the horror anthology - It Came From the Multiplex: 80's Midnight Chillers.

What's in the Mail?

Out of the blue, I received the 2020 drama Ammonite on a MOD Blu-ray from Universal Pictures Home Entertainment. I didn't like the film. The review link is up above if anyone wants to read it.

What's New on the Bookshelf?

Recent titles on my Kindle are Star Wars: Thrawn: Alliances by Timothy Zahn, Star Wars: Leia, Princess of Alderaan by Claudia Gray, Star Trek: DS9: The Search by Diane Carey, Star Trek: DS9 - The Never Ending Sacrifice by Una McCormack, Star Trek: TNG: Q-Squared by Peter David, Star Trek: TNG: Q-In-Law by Peter David, Star Trek: TNG: Stargazer: Oblivion by Michael Jan Friedman, An Irish Hostage by Charles Todd, and The Phantom of the East Tower by Ellen Alexander.

  3. Sorry you weren't feeling well. I like the sound of The Umbrella Lady — old-school gothic suspense!

  4. I never knew that Andrew Neiderman was VC Andrews ghost writer (until just now when I looked it up). How interesting that they had a ghost writer take over after her death. Was he finishing series for her? It seems so odd!

    1. Upon her death, V. C. Andrews had started writing the Flowers in the Attic prequel, Garden of Shadows, and Fallen Hearts, book three in the Casteel series. Her family and the publishing company hired Neiderman to finish those two books and write two more Casteel novels based on V. C. Andrews's notes. Every book after that were Neiderman's creations.
