When did you become interested in storytelling?
From the time I was eight years old, I loved telling stories.
What was your first book/story published?
To My Senses, Book 1 in The Nicci Beauvoir series was my first published book.
What inspired you to write Blackwell?
I love ghost stories and it is one of my favorite genres, that this was a series with a ghost seeking redemption intrigued me.
What character in Blackwell is the most/least like you, and in what ways?
I am lest like Magnus Blackwell in the book. His cruelty is not me. I think I can associate with Francis the love interest the most. She is funny, sharp, and has a wicked wit.
What is your favorite part in Blackwell?
The scenes in New Orleans. I always love writing about my city. Any chance I have to show it off, and here I got to do a lot of research on how things were in the 1880s, which was fun.
What was the hardest part to write?
The acts of murder and depravity. I do write a lot of erotica but that is consensual. Some of Magnus’s deeds were a bit uncomfortable, but they were important to his character.
What would your ideal career be, if you couldn't be an author?
Perhaps working in some other creative venture like films or TV. Somewhere I could exercise my creative muscle.
Do you read reviews of your books? If so, do you pay any attention to them, or let them influence your writing?
The constructive reviews, yes. They do help shape my writing when people critique aspects of how I write or approach a story. Those reviews stick with me when I write another book.
What well-known writers do you admire most?
Mary Renault, Ian Fleming, Hemingway, Dickens. They were master story weavers.
Do you have any other books/stories in the works?
I have book 4 in my paranormal erotica series coming out 1/23/17. Her Dark Past book 4 in The Corde Noire Series concludes the New Orleans based story about ghosts, voodoo, a strange club of Dominants, and a murder mystery.
