Q&A with Amber Malloy, author of Fear Nothing

Now available from Resplendence is the action-romance Fear Nothing by author Amber Malloy.

The author has taken a few minutes out of her busy schedule for a Q&A about her newest novel.

When did you become interested in storytelling?

I read all the time as a child, but the writing bug didn’t hit until after college.

What was your first book/story published?

It was a ghost story and is still my favorite to this day.

What inspired you to write Fear Nothing?

One of my publishers had a call for reimagining Grimms’ Fairy Tales. Since I couldn’t follow the guidelines they set forth, I reworked it and shopped it to another publisher.

What character in Fear Nothing is the most/least like you, and in what ways?

All of them have a little bit of me, but not one character in general. Bodhi is kind and well intentioned. Skye is responsible and nurturing, which at time I associate with myself. Most of the time life partner just calls me Demon Baby.

What is your favorite part in Fear Nothing?

Anytime Bodhi and Skye are together I think its sweet.

What was the hardest part to write?

The end. I had a different ending but it just didn’t work out.

What would your ideal career be, if you couldn't be an author?

A spy like my character Eden in Spies R Us.

Do you read reviews of your books? If so, do you pay any attention to them, or let them influence your writing?

Sometimes I do, but I’m getting better at not reading them. You can tell who’s being nasty just because they can and who is actually putting thought into their review.

What well-known writers do you admire most?

Sue Grafton and J.K. Rowling. I love how they go about their research and plotting.

Do you have any other books/stories in the works?

I’m working on another suspense romance, which is leaning heavily on the romance. Usually it’s the other way around for me and the romance is secondary.
