Billy's Thoughts:

While the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise is slightly over thirty-year-old, it's more popular than ever thanks to the hit Nickelodeon animated series, next year's TMNT 2 live-action feature film and countless merchandise & toys.

Now available to own on DVD is Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Revenge!, featuring the final 11 (well, 12 if you can't the 2-part episode) episodes of the third season. Special Features include 12 Shorts: "The Mutations of a Scene" and "Metal Mutant Battle Royal": Season 4 Sneak Peak.

The episodes on the two disc-set are:

The Noxious Avenger
Clash Of The Mutanimals
Meet Mondo Gecko
The Deadly Venom
Turtles In Time
Tale Of The Yokai
Attack Of The Mega Shredder!
The Creeping Doom
The Fourfold Trap
Dinosaur Seen In Sewers!
Annihilation: Earth! (2-Part Episode)

After returning to New York and driving the Kraang out of the city, you would think the Turtles would have time to rest, but that isn't the case for the second half of the third season. The Turtles encounter more mutants, which some are new allies and others are new villains, including several mutant versions of Shredder.. They later run into a time traveler that zaps them to the Medieval England and then to the Heisei Japan era. Upon returning to their own time, the Turtles learn that there is a war brewing between the Kraang and the Triceraton Empire, and Earth is right in the middle of the battle.

I grew up watching the original TMNT series and I enjoy how Nickelodeon introduces old characters, like Noxious Avenger and Mondo Gecko, into the new series. While the third season wasn't the best, it still has several entertaining moments and throwbacks to the original cartoon & comic book series. Overall, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Revenge! is an entertaining DVD that should appeal to both kids and adults.
