Billy's Thoughts:

I guess you can say that there is nothing better than a classic holiday special. Each and every year, both kids and adults gather around the television to watch Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer, Frosty the Snowman and Santa Claus Is Comin' To Town. Sadly, these specials keep losing a few seconds every year due to more unneeded commercials, which shortens the original running times.

Luckily, these titles are now all available on The Original Christmas Classics: Anniversary Collection Edition Blu-ray, as well as The Little Drummer Boy, Cricket On The Hearth, Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol and Frosty Returns.

Special features on the two-disc set includes:

Be An Artist & Create - Learn to draw Rudolph, Santa, Frosty and more from a professional animator. Plus, fun craft activities for the whole family.

Santa Special Delivery - Enjoy 45 jolly notes about Santa and what makes the holidays so special.

Rudolph Unwrapped - Gift boxes are unwrapped to reveal 50 magical facts about Rudolph and all his friends.

Magical Melody and Kringle Jingle - Sing along to the memorable holiday tunes, Frosty the Snowman and Santa Claus is Comin' to Town.

Frosty Snowflakes Surprises - Magical snowflakes reveal 45 facts about everyone's favorite snowman.

Sam the Snowman's Sing-Alongs - Join the fun and sing along to Holly Jolly and Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.

Considering the age of some of these specials, the picture-quality is pretty good on Blu-ray, though all the specials are still in their original full-screen aspects. Out of the seven cartoons, Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer and Frosty the Snowman are my favorites; with my least favorite being Frost Returns (which has nothing to do with the original). There are plenty of special features to entertain the younger generation. The only complaint I have is the missing voice of June Foray, who original voiced Karen in Frosty the Snowman. Her voice is heard during the singing, but another actress's voice is heard when the character talks. For some unknown reason, Forays voice was edited out during the 70s and replaced with a dubbed voice. It would be nice if her voice would be restored in future releases.

Besides from my nit picking, I did enjoy watching The Original Christmas Classics: Anniversary Collection Edition. It would make a great Christmas gift for anyone, young or old.
