Review:

Between reading romance novels and horror books, I had a chance to read a new mystery-thriller, titled Vendetta, book one in the new Nikki Boyd Files by Lisa Harris.

Vendetta centers Nikki Boyd, whom is part of the Tennessee Missing Persons Task Force. After her sister, Sarah, went missing nearly ten years ago, she decided to make it her life's mission in saving others, and hopefully one day she'll piece together the clues behind her sister's disappearance. Her hopes might finally come true when she discovers a link between Sarah and a recently missing teenager, Bridget.

As she begins to investigate, she stumbles upon a bigger mystery than what she could ever imagined. To solve the case and rescue Bridget before it is too yet, Nikki must team up with her good friend, Tyler Grant, the widow of her best friend who died in accident a year ago, but standing in their way is the killer known as the Angel Abductor.

While I had mixed thoughts on Lisa Harris's Hidden Agenda, I thoroughly enjoyed reading Vendetta, which I read in one afternoon. The plot is well put together; reminding somewhat of the early (and better) books by James Patterson. The characters are developed nicely and the descriptions are also nicely done. Overall, Vendetta is fast-paced, mystery-thriller than plays out more like a movie than a book. I was glued to the story after reading the first chapter and I couldn't put it down until I finished reading it.
