When young John Degraffenreidt and his red crocodile buddy Crosley show up at the Pineapple Cheesecake Factory and find Big Foot Mae lying on the floor, staring up at her Great Star Puzzle on the ceiling, they expect something's afoot. Crosley only wants a new supply of pineapple cheesecakes, but what Mae points to on her ceiling will start the Night Buddies on a totally new fantasy adventure.

A suspicious white dot has passed through the Corkscrew Constellation and is now moving underneath the Houndog Stars. Crosley's Brother Crenwinkle sees the same curious speck in the sky. It looks to be a long night for sleepyhead John, but thanks to the time spreader dingus with its sleep retrandant setting, he gets right into their next escapade. Join the Night Buddies as they embark on another Program, this time taking them all the way into the stratosphere in their newly modified personal racing blimp.

Billy's Thoughts:

Yes, it may seem a little odd that I'm featuring a book in my Holiday Gift Guide that won't be released until next year. Why would I do this? Well, many kids will getting gift cards for Christmas, so I would like to recommend buying Night Buddies: Go Sky High from author Sands Hetherington.

Go Sky High is the third installment in Night Buddies series from Dune Buggy Press. The series centers on a young kind name John Deraffenreidt who has had a hard time falling asleep. Luckily for him, he meets the bright red crocodile named Crosley and joins him as part of a very special Program (Night-Buddies-speak for adventure).

For the newest adventure, John and Crosley head to the Pineapple Cheesecake Factory to stock up on some pineapple cheesecake, but what they actually find there will set them on their craziest adventure yet. The duo head up above the sky to solve their ultimate Program yet.

At first glance a reader may get a little confused at the words used in the Night Buddies series. The author doesn't use correct spelling, but instead he uses t', an', jeeks and etc. to help you get an idea of what these characters sound like. There is a Night Buddies Uncommon Words glossary page at the beginning of the book to help the readers understand the language.

Overall, Night Buddies: Go Sky High is a cute book for kids with fun illustrations!
