Review:

It is hard to believe that Dora the Explorer has been on the air for nearly thirteen years with 118 episodes and counting. Nickelodeon is releasing Dora the Explorer: Dora Rocks! on DVD today.

Dora the Explorer was created by Christ Gifford, Valerie Walsh Valdes and Eric Weiner, and is about a seven-year-old Latina heroine, who explores imaginative regions of the worlds, like jungles, beaches, and rainforests.

The three episodes on this single disc release are:

Dora Rocks! - Benny is having a Sing-Along-Party in his barn, but he forgot to send out the invitations. It is up to Dora and Boots to bring the microphone, so the party can begin.

Baby Bong's Big Music Show - A small drum named Baby Bongo is performing for the first time at the Big Music Show, but he'll need Dora and Boot's help to get there on time.

Little Map - After Map shows his nephew, Little Map, how to draw a treasure map, Dora and Boots take Little Map on a treasure hunt quest.

I've known about Dora the Explorer, but I never actually watched it until this year. I can see why it is so popular with preschoolers and parents as Dora is a great role model who teaches kids about shapes, math, and other educational facts. Dora sings a catchy song in Dora Rocks! and I'm sure kids will be singing along with her. Overall, Dora Rocks! is a cute DVD to watch.

  1. My goddaughter loves Dora and Diego. At the moment she insists on watching it in French.
