I'm well aware that there were audio hypnosis programs that can help people deal with many problems, like trying to quit smoking, get rid of anxiety and stress issues, boosting your self-esteem, and helping you to lose weight. Being curious about hypnosis, I did a Google search and found the program Enjoying Weight Loss from the Hypnosis Network. After reading about the program, I contacted Hypnosis Network and they were kind enough to send me a complimentary copy in exchange for my honest review.
Enjoying Weight Loss was created by Dr. Roberta Temes, a professor of psychiatry at the Downstate Medical School of the State University of New York and an editor of Medical Hypnosis.
The program is on four discs with nine sessions:
Disc 1:
Introduction to Weight Loss
Introduction to Hypnosis
Disc 2:
Weight Loss Essentials
Selecting Your Food Plan
Eating Smart
Disc 3:
Avoiding Temptations
Exercising Regularly
Disc 4:
Appreciating Yourself
Maintaining Your Weight Loss
Real hypnosis is a lot different than what you see on television and the movies, where the doctor tells you to watch the pocket watch move back and forth, leading the victim to fall into a trance. Once in the trance the doctor can make you do anything he tells you to do. In reality, hypnosis is about finding your state of relaxation where you shut everything around you out, like when you are deeply involved in a good book or movie. Once you are in that state while listing to the program, your subconscious can easily accept suggestions.
Dr. Roberta Temes has a likable voice and I was instantly relaxed during my first session. She uses a simple, but smart approach to weight loss. She helps you pick out a food plan that best suits your needs, like Weight Watchers, South Beach, Jenny Craig, etc. She also helps you think before you eat something, encourages you to exercise daily, teaches you to avoid those sweets, and tells you how to maintain your weight loss.
Each session is less than twenty minutes, which makes it easier to listen to for those with a busy schedule. The basic program lasts about three-weeks. By the 19th day, you can add whatever sessions you think you still need and listen to them every other day.
Overall, I am impressed with Enjoying Weight Loss as I started making better decisions while shopping for food. Surprisingly, I found myself less interested in snacking on sweets. I don't have a specific diet plan, but I'm cutting out soda and sweets, so I guess that is my plan for now and it seems to be working. I will be listening to a few of the sessions again as they encourage me to exercise and eat healthier.
This sounds like it's really helpful. Being bit on the plus size, I'll be sure to check it out further! Thanks for bringing it to my attention and sharing your great review. :D

Interesting. I've had a long-time love affair with food, so I've been working on making it a "lifestyle" instead of a "diet." Glad to hear this seems to be working for you. I'll have to check it out.
ReplyDeleteHypnosis is kinda scary for me and you're right, its because of that tv stuff where in you get to watch a pocket watch swing and then you lose control of yourself. Creepy. Hey thanks for this honest review and explaining these things about hypnosis. It's relieving to know how it really goes. it's really not scary after all, and it can help in losing weight which is so cool.
