Thursday Ramblings - May 26, 2011

I watched Disorganized Crime that I bought yesterday for $3.00. I watched it over and over as a kid, and surprisingly it is still good today. I also picked up He-Man and the Masters of the Universe Season One - 10 episodes for $3. The week before I bought a 4 movie pack for $5.00, The Funhouse, Phantasm 2, The Serpent and the Rainbow, and Sssssss. About ten years ago, I saw the first twenty minutes of The Funhouse on the Scifi (now SyFy) channel, but I had to leave and didn't catch the rest of the movie. So, I was thrilled to find the movie on DVD. I enjoyed the movie, even though it was a little silly, but it is still better than most recent horror movies. I watched Phantasm 2 for the first time and enjoyed watching it.

Anyone heard of Spartacus: Blood and Sand? I've been watching Camelot on Starz and Game of Thrones on HBO. I saw that Spartacus was on sale, so I thought I would give it a try. It only took me three nights to watch the 13 episodes. I was shocked at how graphic the show was, but it was well acted and written. I missed the prequel that aired earlier this year, so I'll have to wait for it to come out on DVD.

I bought Undercover Pursuit by Susan May Warren a few weeks ago. Last weekend, I bought A Feasts for Crows by George R.R. Martin. I have book two and three in the series ordered, and I just found out that there will be a fifth book out this summer.

Books in the mail for the last two weeks are: Colby Agency: The New Equalizers - Damaged by Debra Webb; Merciful by Casey Adolfsson (currently reading); The Diet Joke by Lisa Pedace (finished today, review coming soon); and The Last Day of Kindergarten by Nancy Loewen (finished, review coming soon).

I genuinely cherish the thoughts and insights of my readers, and I wholeheartedly welcome your engagement. However, to foster a truly constructive dialogue, I’ll be keeping a careful eye on the comments section. This means I’ll be moderating to weed out any spammy detritus, overly harsh critiques, or contributions that don’t add anything meaningful to the conversation. Think of it as my little corner of the internet—a space where everyone can share their perspectives without the noise. Let’s make this a place where ideas can flourish and grow, rather than wither away in the shadows of irrelevance.
