Welcome to the Book Blogger Hop!
This Week's Prompt:
Which genre are you eager to jump into more this year, and what draws you to it?╍Submitted by Billy, Coffee-Addicted Writer
My Answer:
I have an itch that no modern novel can scratch—I'm reading some classics in 2026. Some titles I’m considering are The House of the Seven Gables by Nathaniel Hawthorne, Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoevsky, Hungry Hill by Daphne du Maurier, Anatomy of a Murder by Robert Traver, and In Cold Blood by Truman Capote, just to name a few.

ReplyDeleteThanks. Oh, I plan on enjoying it.
DeleteOh nice! I could never really get into the classics myself, but I am still wanting to give Frankenstein a try one day!

Have a GREAT day!

You have to read Frankenstein! It's a classic for a reason.
DeleteDo you know about The Classics Club? I'm a moderator there, and I've been a member since 2018. It's a club where members choose fifty classics to read over the next five years. I've ended up reading lots of great books because of this club. Here's a link to more info about it: https://theclassicsclubblog.wordpress.com/how-to-join/. Here's a link to my journey with TCC: https://readerbuzz.blogspot.com/p/the-classics-club.html. My first list is at the bottom of the page.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the recommendation. I'll have to check it out.
DeleteI like that you have already have a TBR plan for new year. Happy Reading!
ReplyDeleteOh, I have other non-classics I want to read this year. The only problem is finding the time to read everything.
DeleteSome classics like those would be good to focus on. I had a hard time answering this question, my answer may not satisfy anyone (including myself), but it made me grin.
ReplyDeleteI’m confident that your answer is fine.
DeleteHappy Friday!
It’s always good to return to the classics every now and then.
ReplyDeleteI plan to mix in classics into my reading list throughout the year, alongside other genres.
DeleteEnjoy! I read Sense and Sensibility this year. I want to read some Daphne du Maurier at some point.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!
I highly recommend reading Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier.
DeleteThe only classic I've considered reading is The Count of Monte Cristo. I tend to read a lot of fantasy and romance with a little mystery thrown in. Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteThe Count of Monte Cristo is a great read. I believe I still have a copy somewhere in my house — I think.
