My Answer:

Yes, it’s likely happened to me more than once with used books. I might have been thinking of a similar title and ended up picking the wrong one, or perhaps I was sifting through a stack of books and accidentally grabbed the incorrect title by the same author. When this occurs, I make sure to double-check the copy I already own. If the new one is in better shape, I’ll part ways with the old one; either way, I always donate the extra copy.
