Released last year from Revell is The Quieting, book two of the Bishop's Family series, by author Suzanne Woods Fisher. You might recall me reviewing the first book, "The Imposter," during my Holiday Gift Guide in 2015.
The sequel once again focuses on the Stolzfus family, though this time the man character is Abigail, a young who is sent to Stoney Ridge (the same setting in book one), where her grandmother, Mammi, wants her to find an eligible bachelor to marry. The only problem is that there aren't any single men available, except for Dane Glick, who is all wrong for her.
Final Thoughts: I used to be heavily into genealogy several years ago, so I was bit surprised to find "genealogical research" as part of the plot in The Quieting. I have always admired Suzanne Woods Fisher's writings, so I my expectations where high here, and I'm glad to say that the author didn't disappoint. The characters are well-written (and likeable, which is always a plus with me), the descriptions are beautiful, and the dialogue is charming.
Overall, The Quieting is an exceptional sequel in the Bishop's Family series. From the dazzling cover art to the wonderful characters, I was hooked into the story from the very beginning, and I ended up reading it in one afternoon.
*I received a complimentary copy in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own.
