The Classic Science Fiction Novel "Battlefield Earth" Is Now Available To Download on Kindle for 99 Cents!

The classic science fiction novel "Battlefield Earth" written by L. Ron Hubbard is now available to purchase on Kindle for the first time from Galaxy Press. It's currently on sale for 99 cents on Amazon.com.

Battlefield Earth: A Saga Of The Year 3000 was first published in 1982 by St. Martin's Press. The original hardcover was over 750 pages and the original paperback was over 1,000 pages.

Written in a similar style of the pulp fiction stores that Hubbard had published throughout the '30s and '40s, the novel is pure science fiction.

Set in 3000 AD, the novel involves a world where a nine-foot-tall alien race from the planet planet Psychlo had invaded Earth over a thousand years ago and enslaved all the humans. Now a slave named Jonnie Goodboy Tyler plans on making a stand against the aliens and help free the human race.

Galaxy Press has also released the novel in large format paperback (trade paperback) and on an unabridged audio CD (over 50 hours); all of which features the new cover art design.

Billy's Thoughts: I had first heard about Battlefield Earth around the time the 2000 film adaptation was released to theaters. I saw the paperback in bookstores around that time, but after watching the movie (which I don't recommend to anyone), I decided not read it; though I'm sure the book is probably a lot different than the film.

Since then, I have read and listened to several of the pulp short stories titles by Ron L. Hubbard, and I have enjoyed all of those tales. I've been on a little bit of a science fiction kick as of  lately; reading a few Star Trek paperbacks and rewatching the movies on DVD. That being said, I'm going to give Battlefield Earth a try, so please be on the lookout for my review on here in the next few weeks.
