Review:

Recently I have had the chance to review two books from the Quilts of Love Series, which each installment is written by a different author. The twelfth book in the series is titled Aloha Rose and is written by Lisa Carter.

Laney Carrigan's life is completely altered when her adoptive mother passes and leaves her a Hawaiian quilt. The red rose snowflake appliqué on a white background quilt was the quilt that was wrapped around her as an infant. Now it may be the only link she has in finding her parents or anyone related to them on the Big Island. Laney Carrigan hops on a plane headed for Hawaii in the hope finding her birth parents in Aloha Rose.

Upon arriving she is greeted by Kai Barnes, who happens to be adopted by Laney's birth family. She meets several relatives, whom a few gives her a tour around the island. She eagerly wants to be accepted by them, but Kai believes that she is nothing more than a gold-digger.

Aloha Rose is a fast read, which I read in one sitting. The plot is realistically written with a woman traveling to Hawaii to find her birth family, but she encounters several twists & turns that will test her faith. For me, the book is a little too heavy on the drama and felt like a sappy made-for-LIFETIME movie. I'm not saying it is a bad novel, as it is far from it. Overall, Aloha Rose is a cute predictable fluff, though it isn't even close to my favorite books from 2013, it was still decently written and worth reading.

  1. Hello!

A friend of mine just published her second book and I am helping to put a book blog tour together for her. This is book two in a three book series but can stand alone. Here's the book blub:

The Scent of Fear by Susan J. Reinhardt

After three years of tenuous peace, John and Ellie Zimmerman are shocked when two old friends show up in disguise. Their world is once again sent into turmoil.

Jim Kenneman, Director of National Security, masterminded the break up of a group persecuting Christians in the Lancaster Tourist Zone. Now, they're gunning for him. At first, he relies on his negotiating skills, but his best operative convinces him that won't work.

Monty, a topnotch operative, worked on the Bird-in-Hand assignment and helped bring down the New Patriots. A recurring dream prompts him to rescue his boss from possible murder. The agency might not be sending him on assignment, but he knows God is directing his path - one that could wreck his career, family, and cost him his life.

Dr. Abby Weaver strives to save infants and toddlers in Holmes County, Ohio. When she meets two strangers, she can't get the tall, handsome one out of her mind. Will their paths intersect again or will dangerous times keep them apart?

This book would be labeled under Amish Futuristic Suspense. If you would like to be a part of the blog tour, I would be happy to forward a PDF copy of the book to you and then set up a schedule of when everyone would post their reviews. I am hoping to get the blog tour together in December and there will also be a $25 Amazon GC and book giveaway involved also. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me. Thanks for your consideration!
