Five Halloween Movies I Have To Watch Every Year

Halloween (1978)

Halloween has been my favorite movie ever since I was laying in the floor of my grandparents' living room watching the edited version on a VHS. It’s the scariest movie ever made. Though I do like the majority of the sequels/reboots (even Halloween III), I still love the original best.

The Midnight Hour

This 1985 TV-movie seems to be completely forgotten by horror fans, but I have fond memories of watching it as a child (I was four when it first aired). It was briefly released to DVD several years ago, but it is out-of-print. I dubbed my parent's recorded VHS copy (from the original airing) onto a DVD a few years ago, and I watch the movie every year. I do wish it would get a proper DVD/Blu-Ray release. Read my post on the movie from last Halloween.

Garfield's Halloween Adventure

I know it isn't a movie, but 1985 TV special is one of my favorites and another forgotten gem on television, thanks to CBS for no longer airing it around Halloween, but it is available on the Garfield Holiday Celebrations DVD.

It's A Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown

Lets admit it. The Charlie Brown Halloween Special is one of the stupidest cartoon specials, but it is still funny after all the years. What I don't like is the fact that as the older the special gets, the more edits the networks make. I recommend watching it on DVD

Trick 'r Treat

I found this anthology on DVD last year and it is now in my annual Halloween rounds. The movie features the freakish horror character, SAM. Read my review of the movie from last year.
