The Litfuse Publicity Group and Summerside Press sent me a review copy of Making Sense When Life Doesn't last month free of charge for a honest review. I read the book right away, but for some reason I have been having the hardest time trying to start this review for it. As it says on the back cover, "Life is Messy. Cluttered. Disorganized." So I think my life is currently cluttered too, with all the books and papers piled up on my desk.
Best-selling author Cecil Murphy uses wisdom and humor in his newest book, where he shows the readers that when life throws you a curve, it's not the end of the world. The author has experienced many trials in his life and he shares dozens of stories about those experiences. I was pleasantly surprised that several of the stories were about how be became a writer later in life. Being a writer myself, I connected with the stories about his first rejections as his writer and then his eventual writing success. One of my favorite quotes was, "Surviving rejections and failed plans in the past assures me that I can handle them in the present."
Making Sense When Life Doesn't is an inspirational narrative that comes directly from the writer's heart and soul. If you are having a bad day, or if a crisis occurs, having this book nearby to read will lift your spirits and may even give you the advice that you need. I recommend the book to all readers.

I genuinely cherish the thoughts and insights of my readers, and I wholeheartedly welcome your engagement. However, to foster a truly constructive dialogue, I’ll be keeping a careful eye on the comments section. This means I’ll be moderating to weed out any spammy detritus, overly harsh critiques, or contributions that don’t add anything meaningful to the conversation. Think of it as my little corner of the internet—a space where everyone can share their perspectives without the noise. Let’s make this a place where ideas can flourish and grow, rather than wither away in the shadows of irrelevance.
